Taiwanese actor Darren Wang abruptly canceled his press conference for his new film 'Playful Kiss', which was scheduled in Korea on March 22.
A day before the event, film distribution company, AUD, announced, "The press conference has been canceled due to internal conflicts. We apologize for the abrupt change in schedule."
The exact reason behind the cancelation is unknown, however, many assume it's due to the ongoing scandal involving Big Bang's Seungri.
There are online rumors connecting Darren Wang to Seungri's scandal, as he seemed to have a close friendship with Seungri, as well as Jung Joon Young. In response to the issue, Darren Wang's agency issued an official statement via Weibo on March 14, stating,
"He and Seungri are just normal friends. He did not engage in any immoral acts," and emphasized, "The malicious rumors involving our artist Darren Wang are all false... Darren Wang has no relation to Seungri's scandal whatsoever. Please stop spreading false information. We will take legal action against those spreading rumors."
