'Aori Ramen' is struggling due to Big Bang's Seungri.
The Joongang Ilbo visited 'Aori Ramen' in Hongdae around 12 pm KST on March 12. The restaurant operated by Seungri's father, Lee Yeon Jin, was noticeably slow despite being lunch hour.
According to the report, only three tables were filled during their visit, all of which were tourists. Only 30% of the seats were filled for an hour since the restaurant opened at 11:30 am. There were no Korean customers.
The 'Aori Ramen' in Gwanghwamun also saw slower business. Out of the 20 seats, 15 were filled during the lunch hours on the same day. The numbers might seem fairly good, however, this is low considering the hours and location.
An employee of the Gwanghwamun restaurant commented, "Usually, there is a wait time during lunch hours but there's no more waiting recently."
'Aori Ramen' is a Japanese ramen franchise launched and operated by Seungri. There are a total of 48 restaurants - 43 in Korea and 5 overseas.
Meanwhile, Seungri announced to retire from the entertainment industry in the midst of the Burning Sun scandal.
What really hurts me about this is the possibility of people losing their jobs for something they didn't do.
