On January 29, trot singer Kim Yeon Ja appeared as a guest on KBS 1TV's 'Morning Front Yard', recalling her experience performing as the ending artist of the '2018 KBS Gayo Festival'!
The singer revealed, "I was so shocked to receive the offer. I wasn't sure I would be able to go on such a stage, at my age. I was thankful and honored. When I'm singing, I only focus on singing. I had no idea that BTS members were dancing right beside me."
Kim Yeon Ja also revealed that her hit song "Amor Fati" was her first encounter with EDM. "The song is from 2013, so 6 years ago... I appeared on 'National Singing Contest' a few times [right after the song release]. But every time I performed, people told me it was too fast. They also asked me where the first verse started and ended, so I just ended my promotions."
Finally, Kim Yeon Ja shared the story of how "Amor Fati" first picked up friction ahead of its trending popularity. "I went on 'Open Song Festival', and EXO were also performing artists. The EXO fans who were there spread on social media that my song was good, and it became a hot topic. Because it was EDM, the young people thankfully liked it."
It's actually very sweet that Kim Yeon Ja, although a respected senior, keeps thanking EXO and EXO-L. Kai was so pleased on Happy Together and you can see how into it the EXO members were during her stage, especially Chanyeol and Kai.
