On the January 11 broadcast of idol survival program 'YG Treasure Box', the tragic semi-final round eliminated all but 13 trainees, in preparation for the final round next week.

20 remaining trainees competed in a live performance round for the semi-finals, in front of 300 audience members as well as a team of professional YG producer judges. The 20 trainees divided into 4 teams and performed Wanna One's "Boomerang", EXO's "Growl", iKON's "Dumb & Dumber", and BTS's "DNA".

Of the four teams, the "Dumb & Dumber" team came in 1st place with a total of 864 votes, with the "DNA" team coming in 2nd place, "Boomerang" team coming in 3rd place, and the "Growl" team coming in last. 

Ultimately, all 5 members of the "Dumb & Dumber" team including Lee Byung Gon, Kim Jun Gyu, Mashiho, Kim Do Young, and Ha Yoon Bin moved on to the final round. Of the remaining trainees, those lucky enough to be selected from their teams included: Bang Ye Dam, Park Jung Woo, Haruto, Choi Hyun Suk, Park Ji Hoon, and finally, So Jung Hwan. 

Afterward, YG's head producer Yang Hyun Suk revealed, "Through these past months, I changed my mind every day. There were so many talented individuals I did not want to miss out on. During episode 1, I told you that the final team would be 5 members, but it's been decided that YG's next boy group will be made up of 7 members." 

In the previews for next week's episode, it was also announced that 2 eliminated trainees from this week would return and join the top 11, which means 13 trainees will compete for the chance to make the final 7.
