On December 18, Stardium Entertainment (home to tarot master Lee Sangwook, actor Cho Boklae, actress Choi Yoonyoung and one month old rookie multi-tainer idol group THE MAN BLK) introduced 'THE TWELVE'. THE TWELVE is a project in which every month a new trainee will be revealed to the public from January 2019 until January 2020. The final twelve trainees will debut together in an actor-idol group in 2020.
Some Orbits have expressed their dislike for this project, due to the similarities between this project and LOONA's pre-debut project. Both will use a month to introduce a trainee for the final group (but in what way the Stardium trainees will be introduced is yet to be revealed), both also twelve in total. They are afraid that people will start praising the new boy group for this project concept and become more popular in Korea than LOONA, while Blockberry Creative was the first company to introduce this concept.
Stardium Entertainment has not yet responded to any of the concerns raised by fans.
It's so crazy that people are getting angry over a new way of introducing new members of a group, it's not any big deal. Loona's pre-debut was much more than introducing a girl every month, they had sub-units, theory events and other things, these specific orbits need to chill out. Also, BBC has trademark over "Boy of the Month", they did it when they applied for Loona/Girl of the Month, so it's not any big loss to the company, otherwise, it can bring even more popularity to them.
I'm more intrigued about how much these companies spend debuting a group like this, and how much of debt these idols will have to pay off to realize their dreams...
