Dok2 took to social media to speak out about his mother's past fraud allegations.
The friend, whose name is protected as 'A', filed a suit with the Daegu District Court in 2002, and while they won the case, they never received the money. 'A' also spoke out about Dok2's success, stating that it was painful to see the rapper be so successful on TV while 'A's family had to live uncomfortably in a small single-room space.
Dok2 responded to the news through a live Instagram posting, where he appeared alongside both of his parents - his father cleaning the apartment while his mother is talking on the phone with a news journalist. In the video, he mentioned that people are seemingly trying to tie his family's situation to Microdot's because they run in the same circles, but their incidents are much different.
He then explained that his mother needed the money after running a failed restaurant, and after the court case was handled in 2003, they were never given any further notice. He added that he was unaware of the situation, and if 'A' needs money, they can come to him directly and talk, and he would pay them back himself.
He explained that his parents lived a difficult life until he finally came into a lot of money within the past three or four years, so while he can easily pay them back now, it was not so easy to do back then.

Following the buzz around rapper Microdot's family history, Korean news outlet Yeongnam Ilbo reported that Dok2's mother also swindled money, borrowing 10 million won (approx. $9,000 USD) from a longtime friend right after the financial crisis of the late 1990s and then disappearing.
