On October 4, Dispatch reported Hara's ex-boyfriend had threatened to upload video of their sexual relations online to humiliate her and destroy her career as a celebrity. The KCSVRC then released a statement that said, "It's been reported celebrity Goo [Hara] is the victim of blackmail with threats of the spread of a sex tape. The threat of spreading the tape is indicative that he wished to control her with the threat, so it's not simply a threat but sexual violence as well."

The organization further stated Hara's ex-boyfriend knows this would damage her life more than his own and that it's difficult for the victims of sex tape threats to go to police for fear of the damage to their lives. The KCSVRC concluded, "Goo has no need to apologize. There's no need to apologize when she did nothing wrong. She's a victim of sexual violence. We ask that everyone who sees this supports Goo."

In related news, Dispatch reported Hara's ex-boyfriend threatened to release their sex tape, and CCTV of Hara on her knees allegedly begging him not to release the video has been found.
