Hara cannot give any legal punishment to Choi Jung Bum for blackmailing.
Hara and her hairstylist ex-boyfriend have been making headlines for their assault controversy. South Korea's laws on revenge porn have also become a hot issue as Hara revealed Choi threatened her with private videos.
Unfortunately, the current South Korean law fails to protect the victims of revenge porn. According to politician Kim Kyung Jin on MBC's 'Section TV', "Currently, there's no way of punishing the person who leaked private videos (if both people agreed to film it). So we're working to reform the law so that a person can get a minimum of 3 years in prison for just leaking the videos."
