Fans are criticizing politicians for using BTS to win young voters

BTS
Some fans are unwelcoming of the 'BTS Act'.

On September 4, JTBC reported that politician Kim Joong Ro is preparing the 'BTS Act' to give military exemption to artists that have gained global recognition.

Military service is a highly sensitive topic in South Korea. With that being said, fans are displeased at how politicians are constantly mentioning BTS while discussing military exemption policy and getting the group involved in a controversial debate.

Fans are also pointing out BTS and Big Hit Entertainment have never mentioned or shared any statements regarding the members' mandatory military service.

Many are angered and firing criticism against the politicians for using BTS for attention. Comments stated, "Don't worry. This law will never pass. It's more realistic for the military exemption to be abolished as a whole. Don't be fooled. Politicians are using a popular artist to gain votes from young people. Just remember these politicians and don't vote for them later on", "Stop selling BTS' name", "Let go of BTS. They are turning them into the target of criticism", "This is nonsense. They're using BTS' name to promote their ideas."

What are your thoughts on the 'BTS Act'?
