BTS is reportedly attending the '73rd General Assembly of the United Nations'.
According to DongA on September 19, BTS is scheduled to perform and give a 3-minute speech in front of high officials and heads of state at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 24.
The K-pop boy group is attending the ceremonial event for 'Generation Unlimited', which is a new UNICEF global partnership aimed at teens and young adults in the ages 10-24.
High authority figures including the secretary general of the UN Antonio Guterres, the executive director of UNICEF Henrietta Fore, the first lady of South Korea Kim Jung Sook, and more are scheduled to attend the ceremony.
This is the first time a K-pop group has been invited to the 'General Assembly of the United Nations'.
Meanwhile, BTS has been actively promoting as the ambassador of UNICEF's 'Love Yourself' campaign for the past 2 years. BTS has been working with UNICEF with numerous donations, which come from some of the income from the sales of physical albums of the 'Love Yourself' series, donations of income from the sales of official goods for the LOVE MYSELF campaign, and more.
It will be a busy week in New York for BTS as they will be giving a speech at the UN on the 24th, guesting and performing on 'The Tonight Show' on the 25th, performing on 'Good Morning America' on the 26th, and two performances for their 'Love Yourself World Tour' at the Prudential Center on the 28th and 29th.
