Recent pieces of data revealed the top 10 groups with the highest album revenues from the first half of 2018.
By taking the retail price for each album, sales data collected from January to June of 2018 calculated the total album revenue for each K-Pop group. Therefore, certain groups' revenues were made from multiple albums released in 2018, while others' were made from just one album.
BTS topped the ranks with their 3rd album 'Fake Love', selling 1,750,117 copies with retail price of 19,000 KRW (~16.83 USD) for each. Their total revenue came out to be around 33.25 billion KRW (~29,454,954 USD).
In 2nd, Wanna One followed with their two 2018 albums 'Boomerang' and 'Light', collecting a total revenue of around 27.57 billion KRW (~24,425,324 USD).
In 3rd place, SHINee came in with four albums, 'The Story of Light' trilogy and Jonghyun's posthumous album 'Poet | Artist'). Together they garnered a total revenue of around 7.99 billion KRW (~7,082,050 USD).
From 4th place to 10th place, the following groups ranked, in order, were: TWICE, NCT, EXO-CBX, GOT7, Seventeen, Black Pink, and INFINITE.
