On July 24, Label SJ stated Leeteuk had been rushed to the hospital in the early morning due to severe abdominal pain and received emergency surgery for acute cholecystitis (gallbladder inflammation), which is caused by stones blocking the tube leading from the gallbladder to the small intestine.
According to the agency, "Today (24th) at 5AM, Leeteuk went to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain, and he was diagnosed with acute cholecystitis. It was advised that immediate action be taken, so he safely underwent surgery today. He's currently resting."
The label added Leeteuk will not be able to attend his scheduled events, "As the doctor recommended that he rest and because the artist's health is first, Label SJ has decided all his scheduled events, including the 'SMTOWN Live 2018 in Osaka' concerts on July 28-39 and everything in his schedule for the week have been canceled. We ask for fans' understanding, and we'll be doing our best for Leeteuk's fast recovery."
Hopefully, Leeteuk recovers soon!
I also had my gallbladder out! It really hurts when it's in pain. I'm glad he recovered well!
