Ellin revealed the payment system of Crayon Pop's agency.
On May 10, Ellin went live on afreeca TV and talked about Crayon Pop's promotions and paychecks.
She revealed, "(Out of 10), the agency takes 7 and Crayon Pop takes 3. The contract is signed with the condition of the agency taking more than us. Not just us but most idols don't get paid very well in the beginning."
Ellin continued, "There are agencies where it's 5:5 but agencies tend to change that," and added, "I believe one needs to take as much as they work, but if that doesn't happen then you get very dispirited. The proportion has changed with the new CEO but this just happened a few months ago. There are some who didn't renew their contracts."
When asked if the agency pays for transportation and meals, Ellin replied, "Nope. They take all of that out (of our paycheck). I don't like to say this because I feel like I'm criticizing my agency. Our CEO is really an angel. Our former CEO was an angel too but the system just sucked. The cost of meals was taken out of our paychecks."
She added, "Honestly, did they really invest that much in Crayon Pop's concept? We survived with one helmet. We thought buying multiple helmets will be wasteful so we only used one. But I think we were able to do well because we had the hard times."
