WINNER discussed their fellow YG Entertainment artists in an interview in light of their 2nd full album comeback.
While mentioning their labelmates, WINNER spoke up about Big Bang's career, and how the group's latest single "Flower Road" topped the charts once more. As much as WINNER were happy about Big Bang's accomplishments, the boys said that there is a type of burden that comes along with it.
"iKON did really well, and so did the Big Bang hyungs, on the charts. We feel that we must also be within that range. The charts show the preferences of the masses, and luck must also follow. We were the consecutive group to debut after Big Bang, so we have a lot of responsibility on our hands. We don't want to ruin the nice path that they cultivated," shared Kang Seung Yoon.
On the other hand, WINNER also firmly expressed that they were in no way trying to replace Big Bang. "Everyone except Seungri-hyung enlisted. Instead of trying to fill in for them, we just want the power of YG to persist. We don't feel that we are being squeezed in the middle of Big Bang and iKON," mentioned Song Min Ho.
