On the February 16 broadcast of MBC's 'Insolent Housemate', Sunggyu introduced his close friend to his housemate Lee Kyung Kyu. The friend shared about Sunggyu's past and revealed he didn't actually think he'll become a singer.
Sunggyu then opened up about the struggles INFINITE faced in their early debut years, and said, "There wasn't much reaction to our first, and second album. It was hard to gain attention before 'Be Mine' and we didn't make any money. At the time, I believed it was all my fault and thought I wasn't good enough. I blamed myself a lot."
