Around 8 a.m. on January 17 at an apartment in the city of Mungyeong, the 24-year-old man identified as 'A' killed his 22-year-old sister identified as 'B' by stabbing her with a knife. Around 11 hours after 'B's death, 'A' turned himself in and confessed he murdered his sister.

During the police investigation, 'A' stated, "I was in a difficult situation where I was having a hard time finding a job after dropping out of college. I committed the crime because my sister was looking down on me."
