GNI Entertainment is now lawfully prohibited from negotiating for or establishing any broadcast, album production, performance, advertisement, or any other activities with a third party contractor on behalf of Mad Town; the label is also prohibited from requesting for either group or individual promotions from the Mad Town members, nor can it dissent to Mad Town's promotional activities apart from GNI Entertainment.
Mad Town's lawyer told news outlets after the court's ruling on November 8, "We thank the court for its wise ruling to terminate Mad Town's contract as of August, 2017. We look forward to the court securing a liberal future for each of the members during the upcoming main trial."
After GNI Entertainment's former CEO, A, was arrested for fraudulent activity in March of last year, Mad Town were unable to receive any form of support from a label on the verge of closing down. As a result, the Seoul Central District Court has ruled in favor of Mad Town, by ordering the termination of their contract. The case will now likely move on to a higher court for additional ruling.
Meanwhile, Mad Town is a 7-member group consisting of Moos, Buffy, Lee Geon, Jota, Heojun, H.O, and Daewon. It is still unclear if the group will remain together or disband, based on their lawyer's previous statement.
