Earlier, it was revealed that Kangin has been reported to the police for assaulting his alleged girlfriend during a gathering involving alcohol in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam. 

Police provided clarification on the reports on November 17, and stated, "It wasn't in Sinsa-dong but at an entertainment facility in Nonhyeon-dong. According to Sports Chosun, the entertainment facility revealed to be an adult entertainment establishment or "room salon". 

The police continued, "It is reported that the woman at the scene is his girlfriend but the exact truth is unknown. Kangin was drunk but not totally intoxicated. There was a minor brawl but they made up on the spot and the case drew to a close. If the scene became hectic and the victim had signs of injury then it would've become a criminal case. However, the victim did not want to punish him so he wasn't officially arrested."

Based on the police's statement, many netizens are assuming the incident occurred at an adult entertainment facility with prostitutes. 

Comments stated, "So it's not his girlfriend but those prostitute unnies", "He basically hung out with prostitutes", "Oh, so his girlfriend must be a prostitute."

In response to the issue, SJ Label issued an official apology on behalf of Kangin while Super Junior fans are demanding that he leave the group.
