The second day of the award show took place in Japan on November 28. Various artists were awarded for their outstanding achievements, however, netizens claim those who also deserve recognition failed to be recognized.
The majority of the complaints regards the online votes. Netizens pointed out how some artists have taken the trophy home when they were obviously falling behind with the votes online.
For example, many are demanding feedback about PRISTIN's win over Kim Chung Ha for 'Best New Female Artist'. Kim Chung Ha was the lead in the category with 26.6 million votes while PRISTIN followed in second with 19.8 million votes. Not only for the votes, it's claimed that Kim Chung Ha had better scores for all other criteria as well.

A similar complaint applies to Seventeen's win for 'Best Male Group Dance Performance'. The group gained 2.2 million or only 3% of the votes online for the category. However, they were awarded over EXO and BTS who've gained 36.6 million and 30.5 million votes, respectively.
BTS fans are also greatly angered about the group being left out of the final nominees for 'Song of the Year'. Online, they were in second place. Also for 'Song of the Year', many netizens are baffled as to why TWICE ultimately won when they were in 10th place with only 1% of the votes.
No awards for G-Dragon and IU also remains a mystery when they have dominated charts, as well as votes with their solo releases throughout the year.
Frustrated with the results of '2017 MAMA', fans are demanding a reevaluation of the votes and a clear explanation of how the winners were ultimately selected.
The hashtag #?????_?? (#reevulationrequest_MAMA) has also trended worldwide following the show on November 28.
