The singer took the time to personally meet with the SBS reporter and asked various questions pertaining to her role. She received lessons and onsite training by practicing her lines, as well as rehearsing in front of the camera like an actual reporter at the scene.
Reporter Jung Hye Kyung, who assisted in Suzy's speech, commented, "She had a good tone from the start so there weren't any problems. I mainly gave her helpful tips on how to read legal-based articles, as well as helping her with legal terminology. We even communicated via text message as well. If she had a question or was curious about something, she would record the segment and I would listen to the line and read it back to her."
Jung Hye Kyung went on, saying, "Even moments before the actual filming, Suzy would send me a recording asking, 'Is this alright?'"
She continued to praise Suzy for her attentive attitude, "She did very well. She was very passionate and determined. It was so much fun practicing with her."
Furthermore, Suzy not only focused on perfecting the overall tone of voice as well as pronunciation/annunciations, she was eager to learn how news reporters worked to dive into certain stories and how to deliver them in an efficient way. She learned to write articles in addition to reporting them in detail. She also watched news-related shows such as drama 'Spotlight', which takes place inside the newsroom to get a firm grasp of her role.
