As previously reported, A was found guilty of ripping off co-star B's underwear, forcibly putting his hand in her pants, and grabbing her without her consent on a movie set in April of 2015. He initially plead innocent, alleging it was simply acting orchestrated by the director. However, he was found guilty of sexual molestation in an appeal trial on October 13 and sentenced to 1 year in prison, 2 years of probation, and 40 hours of a sexual violence treatment program.
On October 17, the actor himself spoke up, insisting his innocence. He stated in an interview following the trial, "I have a family. How can I shamelessly sexually attack someone when so many staff members are watching me?" He further added, "On the day of the second trial, I immediately submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court. If justice is alive, the Supreme Court will prove my innocence."
Meanwhile, actress B stated, "I saw that Jo Duk Jae revealed his own name and came out with his opinion in an interview. I'm taken aback and bitter. He's already received a verdict, but he's saying the court made the wrong judgment? ...He said he'll be filing an appeal. The case will go to the Supreme Court now, and I'll be holding a press conference soon."
Jo Duk Jae is known as a cast member on the tvN drama 'Rude Miss Young-ae', but he will not be joining the upcoming 16th season of the series.
