On September 13, a photo of Kim Jin Woo and Song Min Ho was shared on WINNER's official Instagram account. In the image, Kim Jin Woo is captured wearing a t-shirt with the confederate flag design on the upper right chest. 

Many international fans expressed shock at Kim Jin Woo for wearing the controversial symbol of segregation and racism and demanded the photo to be deleted.

Comments stated, "WTF WITH JINWOO SHIRT?", "The flag on Jinwoo's shirt symbolizes white supremacy and slavery. It is racist. DELETE THIS", "Omg Jinwoo shirt please delete this pic, ''Seriously, YG collect your stylist. This is not even the first time."

Some fans have found his outfit highly offensive and even turned their backs. "I really am a huge fan of you guys. I'm so sad to Jinwoo wore that shirt. Make me to leave the fandom," said one netizen. 

Some assumed that Kim Jin Woo wore the shirt without no knowledge of the history of the controversial flag and just wanted to educate him so he doesn't wear it again.
