According to a music representative on September 5, after some lengthy discussions, U.JI and Dahye along with YNB Entertainment mutually agreed to terminate the exclusive contracts. Although there was still time remaining on their contracts under YNB, the agency agreed to terminate the contracts in respect for U.JI and Dahye and their future.
With the two members leaving the team, BESTie is expected to continue with the two remaining members Haeryung and Hyeyeon.
An industry official stated, "BESTie will undergo a reorganization in a number of ways including recruiting new members. However, they (Haeryung and Hyeyeon) will focus on their solo activities for now."
BESTie debuted back in 2013 with the single "Pitapat" and released other singles such as "Thank U Very Much" and "Like a Star." In 2015, the group won the "Next Generation Award" at the Golden Disk Awards.
