Lee Tae Gon PD, in charge of 'Youth Generation 2', did not refrain from addressing the incident revolving SHINee's Onew. Onew was initially cast for the role of Kwon Ho Chang but decided to withdraw from the production after his harassment charges. The PD said, "At first, when unfavorable situations occur, it's true you go through confusion, but it can be overcome with teamwork. Onew was an actor I liked and who worked very hard, so personally, I think it is unfortunate that such a matter happened to him... It's true that [Onew] had a lot of screen time, but we have plenty of time [to film] so it won't be too big of a problem."
Actress Seungyeon, whose character was initially set to have a love line with Onew's character, also spoke on the replacement. "With the changes, I think as long as I do well, it will be fine. I trust that Lee Dae Gon PD will create a good production. I'm at ease. I just have to do well myself."
Onew's character Kwon Ho Chang will be played by 'Produce 101' season 2's Lee Yoo Jin. The first episode of 'Youth Generation 2' will air August 25 at 11PM KST.
