On June 13, Seoul's Eunpyeong Police Station reported that 21-year old Mr. Kim was taken into custody for alleged assault.
On June 8 and 9 around 11:30 pm KST, Mr. Kim was riding in his friend's vehicle on the road in Eunpyeong District when he began shooting at random pedestrians with a BB gun.
One pedestrian was walking out of a restaurant when he was struck and injured by the BB gun ammo.
The next day, Mr. Kim shot another pedestrian near the same spot he had previously made random fires. Despite the fact that he was near a police station, Mr. Kim committed the crime anyway.
Mr. Kim was arrested after the police inspected security camera footage and stated that the reason for his actions was 'only a joke'.
"It was just a joke," Mr. Kim commented.
Meanwhile, police personnel stated, "The friends who were in the vehicle with Mr. Kim did not take part in the act. They weren't even aware that shots were fired from the BB gun."
