On May 16, Roy Kim held a press conference in light of the release of his 4th mini album 'Blooming Season' in Seoul.
Roy Kim explained the reason why it took him a year and a half for him to return, stating, "First of all, I had to attend to my studies, and after that, I took a vacation."
He went on to say, "I wanted to originally release the album in April but IU and Hyukoh appeared. So then I thought, "Great," when I found out that Psy hyung would be returning in May," explaining his thwarted plans.

Lastly, Roy Kim pointed out, "It would be a true honor for me to make it to the top ten on the charts; however, I think it's going to be difficult. There's no short cut to making it on the charts."
