At the press conference for the KBS production, Min Hyo Rin revealed, "I received the screenplay through a 'Unnies' Slam Dunk' producer. After reading it, I kept thinking about how Ji Young lives. That's when I decided to accept the casting offer." The titular character played by Min Hyo Rin is named Ji Young, an extreme individualist who thinks of herself before others. Ji Young's life is turned upside down when she meets Byuk Soo, played by Gong Myung, who is very dependent on those around him.
On her character, the actress said, "I went into filming thinking we were similar, but I realized how different we are. I tend to be an individualist myself. I've done a lot of things by myself, but I'm not a loner. In my heart, it's not like that, but I try to be strong. However, Ji Young is so different than me that I thought I'd die if I live like her."
'Individualist Ms. Ji Young' will air on May 8-9.
