Producer Ahn Joon Young of 'Produce 101' explained the differences between male and female trainees in the competition program.

At the press conference for 'Produce 101' season 2 on April 3, Ahn PD said, "In one word, the female contestants on season 1 were 'vicious'. Their talents were also all above average. The male contestants on season 2 are slow and there's a big range in talent." He added, "The trainers had a hard time. Those who are good are really good and those who are bad are really bad."

Kahi, who's once again joining as the trainer, commented, "The female trainees have stronger desires to win. On the other hand, I saw timid and passive sides in the male trainees. But what's important is that there are some who have self-control through it."

The first episode of 'Produce 101' season 2 is airing April 7.
