On January 19, a second hearing was held in Los Angeles for the singer's visa issuance cancellation suit. Yoo Seung Jun's legal representative presented a video message of the singer's declaration.
A representative of Yoo Seung Jun stated, "Yoo Seung Jun claimed, 'I really want my voice to be heard', and prepared a 15-minute video clip." It has been reported that the footage contained a message directly from the singer expressing his thoughts and current conditions since his prohibition from entering his homeland, Korea.
Giving up his Korean citizenship and obtaining a U.S. citizenship in order to be exempt from serving in the mandatory Korean military service, the singer received much criticism for his actions back in 2002, leading to a huge plunge in his music career as it was at its peak coming from the 90s. As a result, he was forced to leave Korea and has been banned from the country ever since.
