Writer Park claims that SBS drama 'The Legend of the Blue Sea' is very similar to a movie scenario she wrote 10 years ago.
On December 1-4, writer Park introduced herself as the writer of 'The Legend of Hae Wol Sea: Pearly Shells' on the official website of 'The Legend of the Blue Sea' and pointed out the similarities between her work and the trending drama.
The writer wrote, "Not only did it include mermaids, but the situations in the drama and the portrayals are very similar." Though she demanded an apology, writer Park said she does not want to call it plagiarism.
She explained, "I want to emphasize once again that I'm not here to say that they have plagiarized my writing. Why? Because I am a poor citizen. How can I take legal action against big, threatening existences like Choi Soon-Sil and Cha Eun Tak? If they deny and try to demolish me, I will just go die. This is an analysis of the similar parts, but I've never said it was plagiarism. I heard you get sued if you talk big and claim that it's plagiarized. "
