As the years go by, another 'comfort woman' victim has passed away.

On December 6, a former 'comfort woman' (euphemism Japanese government used to call military sex slaves during WWII) Park Sook, passed away at the age of 94.

Park Sook was kidnapped while gathering clams by the sea when she was only 16-years-old and was abused as a sex slave by the Japanese military for the next 7 years. She was an active protestor who continued to raise her voice against the Japanese government who still does not fully admit to their war crimes. Park Sook would say things like, "Be proud against Japan. Do not become someone who bows to another country."

Park Sook's health began to fail last year and recently, it turned for the worse after she suffered a bad case of pneumonia. Her last words before she passed away was, "Please bury me under the 'Statue of Peace'." The statue is a 'comfort women' monument that portrays a young girl who represents all the victims of Japanese sex slavery.

She also stated, "No matter what, make Japan apologize. We must live with dignity."
