Final verdict on older brother who assaulted his younger sister's rapists unveiled

On December 19, the Daegu High Court overturned the original verdict regarding two men in their 20s.

The original sentencing was ten months in prison and two years of probation for one man and six months in prison and two years of probation for the other man. However, that has now been overturned, resulting in suspended sentencing for both.

Both men had called over two teenage boys who raped one assailant's younger sister back in February and assaulted them multiple times.  The two assailants had beaten the two teenage boys in the face and stomach repeatedly, which led to their trial.

The court stated, "We took into consideration that they committed the crime from the shock of the younger sister becoming victim to a gang raping," adding that the two perpetrators have reached favorable agreements with the two victims.

However, the court also said that they had to keep in mind that taking punishment into their own hands, no matter how angry they were, would likewise result in punishment.
