Back in November, Peniel appeared on the talk show 'Hello' to confess a secret he'd withheld from fans for a long time. He revealed that he'd been experiencing hair loss for the past 5 years, despite his young age at 24. 

Toward the beginning of 'Radio Star', the MCs and Sechskies talked about some of the members' hair style changes, and that was when Kim Gu Ra took his jab by saying, "Some time ago, on a show from a different broadcasting station, there was an idol in his 20's who was experiencing hair loss. The guy called Peniel. Even though he's an idol." 

He continued, "But in Sechskies, even though you're now in your 40's, there's no one with hair loss." 

Furious Melody vented online that Kim Gu Ra used poor Peniel, who was visibly under quite a bit of stress about his hair loss during his confession, to make Sechskies look better, while shedding bad light on Peniel. One fan shared a set of screen captures of Peniel from one of his movie reviews, and stated that Kim Gu Ra had a thing or two to learn from 24-year old Peniel. In the screen captures, Peniel says, "I think this topic is a bit too sensitive for me to talk about, so I'm not even going to touch on this topic. Because someone might unknowingly get hurt, and I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me." Other Melody seemed to agree with this perspective. 

Another fan commented, "If his own son were to suffer from stress-induced hair loss his heart would probably tear apart...", and more.
