A 30-year-old man with the surname Park, who poured gasoline on his friend and set him on fire, has been arrested. The man and the victim were said to be close friends. So why did this happen?
Park and the victim, a 32-year-old man, had known each other for 8 years; they were from the same town, worked in the same company, and even roomed together in the company dorm.
However, when Park learned that his roommate started to date a woman Park had been having a crush on for the last three months, Park decided to get his revenge.
On the night of November 28, Park called out his friend for a drink. When the friend showed up, Park poured gasoline on him and then set him on fire.
The victim stated, "He set a lighter on my clothes, and the fire started immediately. I couldn't do anything...The fire just lit at once. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't."
The victim suffered from second-degree burns on his face and his hands
Police reported that Park said during a police interview that he wanted to kill his friend.
