The Gyeongbuk provincial police agency announced that 5 men in their 70s living in the same town have been arrested for sexually assaulting a woman with a mental disability.

According to the police report, these 5 elderly men took advantage of a woman in her 30s living in their town after learning that she had a mental disability. They lured her by telling her that they would buy her food and then sexually assaulted her. After they raped her, some of the men threw 1000 KRW ($1) bills on her body.
The investigators emphasized, "You cannot say that this was a willing prostitution transaction just because there was monetary compensation. The victim was being abused due to her mental disability."
The victim has since been placed in a shelter for her protection.
