Former girl group member A (24) is facing penalties for illegal possession and use of marijuana.
In January of 2016, A was arrested for planting marijuana in a flower pot at her house located in Gangnam. Her case was sent to court, and it was also revealed that A has smoked marijuana last December and April of this year. As a result, the court demanded A to pay a fine of 3,000,000 KRW (approximately $2,639 USD).
However, a more severe penalty was ordered by the appeals court as her initial penalty of a fine was considered too light. A is now sentenced 6-month penal servitude, 1-year probation, and 80 hours of community service.
Meanwhile, A is revealed to have debuted as the vocalist of a 6-member band, and after departing from the band, she returned as a member of a girl group in 2015.
