A 54-year-old man who suffers from schizophrenia was sentenced to a prison term for harassing two high school students.
According to the court document, the man approached two high school students who were eating ddukboki (spicy rice cake dish) inside of a convenience store in Wansan-gu, Jeonju at around 1PM. He harassed the girls by first asking, "Have you ever had sex with a man?" It did not stop there. The man reportedly whispered to the girls, "If you want to have sex, I will pay you. Come follow me outside the store. I will pay you a lot."
The students, shocked by the sexual harassment, called the cops immediately and the 54-year-old was arrested at the scene.

At the police station, the man denied the allegation, stating, "I was giving them guidance. I never said those [inappropriate statements]. I thought they were prostitutes." However, the convenience store's security camera had captured the entire incident, including the man's gesture that seemed to imitate sexual intercourse.
The court of law sentenced the man to 8 months in prison and 2 years of probation. He also must complete 40 hours of rehabilitation for sexual deviance. The judge stated, "Considering the defendant had a history of sexual crimes and that the victims could not have their innocence restored [from their shock], it is appropriate to sentence him to serve in prison."
