MBC News recently reported that the latest craze among mothers in Korea is to administer their children with 'brain juice' shots.

This hot trend all began with a rumor in the Gangnam District area which claims that these 'brain juice' shots supposedly improve concentration and boost/accelerate brain activity.

The mixture in the shot is said to contain various vitamins and ginkgo leaf extract. Each shot costs around 70,000 KRW (~$62 USD) to 120,000 KRW (~$107 USD), a price range that is twice as much as a normal shot.

Many hospitals are attracting clientele, mostly anxious mothers wanting their children to perform exceptionally on the upcoming college entrance exams, by claiming, "It is most effective after several shots."

Both parents and students unanimously agreed, "We think that brain activity will increase and our grades will improve if we receive these shots. That means we might be accepted into a better university.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has only acknowledged the shots' ability to reduce headaches and circulatory disturbances in the peripheral arteries.
