The August 1 airing of 'Myeong Dan Gong Gae 2016' aired a special on the Hallyu stars who made it big in China.
The show compiled a ranking of Korean stars who are currently the most popular in China and estimated the profits they are reaping in the neighboring country.
Third place went to Girls' Generation's YoonA, whose immense popularity in China has been steadily rising, landing her many acting gigs and endorsement deals.

An insider revealed, "At the most, YoonA's profits can go up to 30 billion KRW (~$27 million USD) per project. It's different for each project but being a member of Girls' Generation and her acting experience with roles in Korean dramas definitely had an impact [on her popularity]."
