On August 3, Mingyu wrote on Seventeen's official Twitter, "Hello, this is Mingyu. I was debating whether or not to write this, but I decided to because of your concerns. I am sorry and also upset because I feel like I'm causing harm to the fans and the members. It's a minor back injury, but my agency advised me to think further ahead, and my members considerately told me that it' was okay. I will be performing at the concert, but I will have to miss out on several performances with difficult choreographies."
He continued, "You guys probably looked forward to it, so I'm very sorry, and I also regret not being extra cautious. I will recover as fast as possible and return with a proper performance. I apologize for worrying you guys."
Earlier, Pledis Entertainment had informed Carat through Seventeen's official fan cafe that Mingyu had suffered a minor back injury, and was recovering at the hospital. As a result, the label decided best for Mingyu to refrain from participating in parts of Seventeen's upcoming concerts and fan meetings.
