Producer of 'Girl Spirit' responds to accusations that contestants lip-sync on the show

The pilot episode of 'Girl Spirit' aired on July 19, garnering attention for its interesting format, as well as the various performances from female idol competitors. However, some netizens made a rather ridiculous claim that, several contestants were lip-syncing during their stage.

Ma Gun Young PD strongly responded with, "It is not lip-synced. Everyone sang live. [To lip-sync] would be nonsense; it's a competition show. I am upset it wasn't able to be broadcast exactly as they sang. Viewers who are used to competition programs probably looked forward to the live feel, but lack of that live show feeling seem to have led to reactions claiming they sounded like they were lip-syncing." He added, "That live feeling is good for broadcasts, but it fails to capture the singer's unique color and technique." 

Currently, LABOUM's Soyeon, Spica's Bohyung, FIESTAR's Hyemi, Ladies' Code's Sojung, BESTie's U.JI, Lovelyz' Kei, SONAMOO's Minjae, CLC's Seunghee, Oh My Girl's Seunghee, April's Jinsol, Cosmic Girls' Dawon, and Pledis Girlz' Sungyeon are competing on 'Girl Spirit'.
