A few days ago, comedian Park Myung Soo talked with a public service police woman on a broadcast of 'Park Myung Soo's Radio Show'.
When the police woman said, "These days we have flyers on being prepared against female-related crimes sitting out for people", Park Myung Soo remarked, "Such crimes must happen more often because its summertime. It's fine to dress nice and pretty, but I think it's dangerous [for women] to wear too-revealing clothes and go drinking, and things like that."
Angered netizens everywhere have been flooding Park Myung Soo's Instagram with criticism since the broadcast, claiming that even though he may not have meant for his comment to demean women, his statement still contains an underlying offense.
Netizens said, "Revealing clothes have nothing to do with rape crimes. Furthermore, not wearing revealing clothes is in no way a method of avoiding female-related crimes", "Oh my word.. Your comment has single handedly made every male in the world a hidden rapist... Please provide some feedback..", "Just because he said it without knowing it might be offensive, that doesn't mean it isn't offensive", and more.
