A high schooler who tried to dispose her baby's dead body in a school locker room was caught by the authorities.
According to Seoul Metropolitan Agency (SMPA) and local fire authorities, the corpse of a baby girl was found in the locker of a girls' changing room at a Yeongdeungpo District vocational school. The baby's lifeless body was found wrapped in black plastic bag.
After scouring the surveillance footage, police was able to pinpoint the high school student responsible for the act and arrested her for charges of abandoning a newborn baby.
The student reportedly confessed during police investigation, "I gave birth to a stillborn 25 weeks into my pregnancy and had temporarily left her in the locker room before heading to the hospital."
Currently, the student is receiving treatment at a clinic for psychological instability. The police plan investigate the case further before deciding on an appropriate penalty.
