The April 19 installment of 'PD Notebook' explored the sensitive topic of sponsors in the K-entertainment world, a topic that has recently received a lot of media coverage.
The episode featured a former unidentified trainee who shared her personal encounters with sponsorship offers. She said, "When I was attending vocal training classes, the teacher asked me what kind of singing I wanted to do. When I said that I wanted to be an idol, the teacher asked, 'Can you work for a sponsor?' I said 'No,' and was told, 'Then just give up.'"

The trainee also shared accounts of being approached by sponsors, saying, "They told me that they'll give me 5 million KRW (~$4,432 USD) if I meet with them twice a month. I'm personally very conservative but I was briefly tempted."
