Apparently, FNC and a company that was partly in charge of the drama's production are caught up in a legal scuffle over an OST payment that was never distributed. The production company claimed, "We never received our payment," and filed suit against FNC. FNC rebutted, "We reached an agreement to disburse 1.2 billion KRW (~$1.04 million USD) but the production company would have none of it."
An FNC rep came forward to address the issue, telling OSEN on April 6, "It's not that we delayed the compensation from the start, but because one of the companies that jointly produced the drama sold the image of the actors' on merchandise without any [consultation with us], we had no choice but to halt the payment. Based on reasonable conditions, one production company agreed to the 1.2 billion KRW disbursement, but the remaining company is refusing to accept the terms, leading to another lawsuit, and the courts had ruled on the disbursement of 1.2 billion KRW. But the opposing party was noncompliant to the ruling and has submitted an appeal. After the first ruling, we promptly deposited the payment so we find it regrettable that they're making it seem like we never intended to pay them."
