A dog was discovered with more than half of its throat severed to the point its esophagus could be seen, and while you may be more than understandably horrified by this predicament, you will be relieved to know that an update on the dog shows that it is recovering well.

The animal protection group, 'Miryang Road Angel,' revealed the other day that the dog had passed the critical state and was currently recovering.  A service worker called Kkomo said, "We gave the dog the name Nurungji (fried rice). Its eating is still limited, so it is only ingesting canned formulas and water."

After regaining some of its health, Nurungji was revealed to have gotten up from his spot when the service worker providing it with food approached and quietly licked the service worker out of gratitude.

Although some dogs act severely with distrust toward people if they've wandered the streets after abandonment for a long time, but Nurungji acted very gratefully towards the service workers, making them wonder how long it's been since he had been abandoned.

Kkomo said, "Today, we only disinfected and did simple things where it received the surgery.   We plan to do a detailed examination tomorrow, and I think we'll have to watch over its progress for about a week.  We are satisfied because Nurungji is enduring better than we thought.  We hope that this would be a chance for a lot of people to change their attitude toward dogs."

Netizens were understandably very touched by this (I write as I wipe my eyes with tissues), commenting under the article with, "I am so grateful for your love toward these children.  I respect you, Kkomo.  Our Nurungji~ quickly get better and be happy... be strong!!" "Applause~~~~?" and, "I'm truly touched.  I would also like for him to quickly recover from the hurtful scar of being cast aside by his human."
