In an ironic turn of events, a reporter who tried to write a controversial article about 'Descendants of the Sun' became the target of criticism.

Following episode 8, an article criticizing Jin Goo's profane language use in the drama was published. The 'controversial' issue the reporter wrote about was the scene where Jin Goo uses profanity to portray anger at the man who tried to interfere with the rescue mission. Jin Goo's direct words are "F*ck, bring that son of a b*tch over here!"

The article targets Jin Goo and 'Descendants of the Sun' for using language that isn't permitted on Korean terrestrial broadcasts. However, netizens weren't offended by the profanity usage, but by the reporter instead. Many people pointed out how the reporter tried to create controversy over a matter that wasn't even worth the criticism. Some comments include, "It was appropriate for the situation", "A reporter trying to make controversy again", and "The profanity was so necessary for that scene."
