Shocking for some, expected for others, a recent airing of Channel A's 'I Heard a Rumor Show' is creating a lot of buzz with the talk of sponsored girl group members!
Reporter Kim Myo Sung appeared on the show and revealed that she got to take a look at not only a supposed list of female celebrities looking for sponsors but also the contract that would be signed between the woman and her sponsor. She started off, "I met a businessman who received an offer to become a sponsor. He told me that he received a list of female stars, which included girl groups. What took me completely by surprise as a woman myself was that there were ranks. There were ranks and even the costs were all written there."
She explained that some famous people would be written down a the higher end while the lower end would contain "girls who are in famous girl groups but within that, have yet to see the light," suggesting members who haven't had the chance to shine yet but do well for themselves in a popular group.
"What was more traumatizing," she continued, "was that in the sponsorship contract, it said that in the chance of pregnancy, no matter what, she must go overseas to take care of it. They even take care of the surgery fee with no additional conditions."
