Chinese netizens declared a boycott of JYP, TWICE, and Tzuyu after the idol star showed a Taiwanese flag on 'My Little Television' and her nationality was listed as Taiwanese on a teaser image. It's said that the issue is also affecting Tzuyu's brand endorsements and allegedly TWICE's album sales in China as well.
JYPE stated, "TWICE have never officially released an album in China in the first place. As for the advertisement issue, Tzuyu was not a model of the company in question but rather a model with a domestic company. Her advertisements being canceled is nothing but a rumor."
