One such person was a teenage girl who complained that her mother loved the household pet dog more than herself. According to the daughter, the mother pays special attention to the dog and neglects maternal duties towards her. She claimed, "She buys brand name clothes for the dog but tells me to just buy clothes at the market," and explained that the mother told her to clean up after the dog's droppings.

The daughter further relayed, "When the dog is roaming around, you can hear its claws scratching against the floor but my mom just says, 'The noise he makes is so cute,' but tells me to be quiet and go into my room.'"
When it was the mother's turn to explain her side of the story, she started off by joking, "He is really handsome for a dog. I nicknamed him 'Jang Dong Gyun,' (pet dog in korean is Ban Ryun Gyun)" making everyone in the studio burst out into laughter.
Then she went on to say, "I don't think it's appropriate to say that I discriminate against my daughter," when the MCs asked her if she indeed prefers the canine over her own offspring. "Discrimination is when you take equal subjects and treat one party better than the other. But are my daughter and the dog considered equals? My daughter is not a dog," and added that though she may buy brand name clothes for the pup, she also takes care of her daughter's health. The mother said, "When my daughter told me that she doesn't have a lot of energy, I purchased 500,000 Won (~$443 USD) worth of powdered traditional Korean medicine and brewed her a tonic."
